Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars DS Review by GameDemo.com
First off, this game is not for children and comes with a MATURE rating.
Those of you that are old enough to remember the original Grand Thief Auto are old enough to play this version and consider this that older version on steroids (or acid). It brings back all the fun of the original with the over head perspective but then brilliantly adds DS features that add a unique game play style. Example you must hot wire a car with your styles instead of just jumping in and going.
Right now, I have sort of blown off the missions for a bit and started my own little drug empire. Those of you that enjoy playing Dope Wars, this is sort of the same thing only with action. The DS interface does a nice job of tracking your dealers and who is buying and who is selling. Something tells me the developers took a look at Dope Wars and tweaked it in. (spoiler alert – keep a YOUR vehicle nearby when doing a drug deal. Nothing more upsetting than having blown your wad on some smack and the pigs show up and bust your ass when you are trying to hotwire a parked get away car)
Graphics – push the DS to the limit and are impressive.
Interaction – a little awkward at first but you get accustom to it. (i.e. I think the accelerator should be up front and brake in back.
Sound – environmental sounds are impressive but music can get annoying fast.
In Short – if you old enough this adds a highly playable action game to your DS library.
