Pontifex Review - Kevin Carney [GameDemo.com 10/2001]
Once in a great while, I am reminded why I do this. You see, I LOVE Games. I especially love games that are HIGH in Gameplay value. Many games are high in 'flash' but low in 'fun'. Chronic Logic created a game that makes me rejoice to be a gamer. While their company might be as small as the file size of this game (920K - that's right less than a meg). The game itself is HUGE. If you were to take the puzzle-ness of Tetris and Simmie-ness of SimCity times it by 10 then you would come close to the gameplay value of Pontifex. Pontifex is a 'Bridge Builder Simulation', an area untouched by the 'corporate gaming giants'. I would like to thank Chronic Logic, it has been awhile since anyone has proven that you don't need a 500MB+ wiz-bang graphic game to have a awesome wiz-bang game game.
